Nordictrack C1650 Treadmill – What You Need To Know
The Nordictrack C1650 treadmill is one of the most popular mid-range Nordictrack models on the market. It’s not quite as high-end as Nordictracks Commercial treadmills – but built tougher than their starter models.
One very interesting note is that this year, Nordictrack made the console larger.
So the 1650 treadmill now carries one of the largest full-color web browsers and consoles that you can find on these treadmills – a full 10 inches across. This makes it easier to read your stats or surf the net.
You also get an impressive 3.5 HP motor, one-touch controls for on-the-fly changes and a folding mechanism with lift-assist to save the strain on your back.

Nordictrack C1650 Treadmill Review – Benefits:
Extra Large Console with Built-in Web Browser
This treadmill comes with an extra large 10 inch touch-screen console with Android web browser. This is one of the largest web browsers that Nordictrack makes – so it’s nice to find it in a more affordable model.
This also makes it easier to read your workout stats like speed, time, distance and more.
With the web browser, you can catch up with Facebook friends, read emails or watch YouTube videos as you walk – making your workouts a lot more enjoyable!
Tough 3.5 HP Motor
You get a very healthy 3.5 HP continuous duty motor power – strong enough to power the treadmill easily for both runners or walkers alike.
Plus the heavy-duty drive system also has dual fans that help cool the internal components while running – with less noise and vibration. This helps to prolong the life of your treadmill and give you a smoother, quieter workout.
Run Around the World with iFit
iFit is an online subscription service that connects your treadmill to the Internet. From there you can do all sorts of fun things.
You can get daily LiveFitness classes broadcast directly to your console. You can also choose to run various famous trails all over the world – from Paris to Hawaii. You’ll see the actual trail you’re running as you walk on your treadmill – for a more “virtual reality” feel.
iFit can also track your workouts over time, graph them and show you how far you’ve come. You can even use the iFit activity tracker (free with membership) to track your other daily activity, movement, diet and even sleep patterns.
The deck on this treadmill also comes with adjustable cushioning. So if you’re more prone to injury or shin splints and want a softer deck you just turn the cushioning up.
If you want a more road-like feel to your workout, you can easily turn the knob on the deck to turn the cushioning down.
Tablet Holder Above the Console
You can attach your own tablet to the bracket above the console and watch your favorite shows or movies as you walk. This is another handy option that can make your workouts a lot more fun.
iPod Dock with Speakers
The Nordictrack C1650 also comes with an iPod dock with speakers. So you can plug in your iPod or other audio device and listen to your favorite tunes through the built-in 2 inch speakers in the console.
Nordictrack C1650 Treadmill – What You Should Know:
If you want to try iFit, you’ll need to get an online subscription from the manufacturer (about £79 per year). iFit is optional however – the treadmill works just fine without it and you already get 34 ready-made built-in workouts with the treadmill.
You only get up to 12% incline with this treadmill – not up to 15% like you usually get with more commercial-grade models. Still, for most people this should be fine. If you want more of a challenge you may want to upgrade to a model with a higher 15% incline.
If you’re looking for a treadmill that’s built tougher than your average starter model – but much cheaper than a commercial-grade treadmill, then the Nordictrack C1650 is a great choice.
It gives you strong basics like a tough 3.5 HP motor, strong deck and larger-than-average walking area – with some high-end features like the extra large web browser, tablet holder and iFit option.
