These are both popular, runner-friendly, commercial-grade treadmills from Nordictrack. They’re tougher and built to a higher standard than Nordictrack starter treadmills.
They both give you strong motors, solid, stable running decks, adjustable cushioning and even full-color, touch-screen web browsers in the console.
They also both have up to 3% decline – which can help you up your crosstraining. It’s also great to walk on a decline after a particularly hard workout.
Unfortunately, these treadmills look so much alike that it can be hard to tell the differences between them.
Not to worry though – this post will give you a rundown of the main differences between them to help you choose the best treadmill for your home.
Nordictrack Commercial 2450 vs 2950 – Price
The Nordictrack 2450 is currently the most economical treadmill of the two, coming in around £1799 with Free Shipping here.
The Nordictrack 2950 treadmill is the more luxury model and carries a few more frills. It comes in around £2499 with Free Shipping here.
So what do you get for the extra money? Let’s find out!
Nordictrack Commercial 2450 vs 2950 Treadmill – Motor
The motor is the heart of your treadmill. Runners and multiple-user families need a stronger motor since they will be putting the treadmill through more use (and abuse) during their workouts.
While the Commercial 2450 treadmill has a strong motor power of 4.0 HP, the Commercial 2950 treadmill edges it out just slightly with a motor power of 4.25 continuous duty HP.
So while it’s not a huge difference the Nordictrack 2950 will hold up a bit better to strenuous use.
Nordictrack 2450 vs 2950 Treadmill – Console
There isn’t really a difference between consoles. But most people like to compare the consoles head to head – which is why I included it in this post.
As you’ll see below, the Nordictrack Commercial 2450 treadmill comes with an extra-larger 10 inch touch-screen console with built-in web browser, along with a tablet holder above the console for your tablet:
The Nordictrack Commercial 2950 treadmill console is very similar – again with a larger 10 inch console with web browser, one touch buttons and a tablet holder above the console.
So really – there’s not much difference between the two. Both consoles are well laid out, easy to use and will give you a lot of entertainment options.
Nordictrack Commercial 2450 vs 2950 Comparison – Height Adjustment
One of the biggest differences between the Nordictrack 2450 vs 2950 treadmills is that the Nordictrack 2950 model has Power-adjustable uprights.
You just press a button on the console and the console moves up or down to where you want it.
This is a great way to move the display, controls, heart rate sensors, and fan into the perfect position for your workout. It’s also ideal for multiple-user families or taller runners who don’t want to strain their neck looking down at the console constantly.
The 2450 treadmill does not have this option.
Nordictrack Commercial 2450 vs 2950 Comparison – Stability
Both machines are extremely stable and would be great for runners or walkers alike. However the Nordictrack 2950 treadmill does come in a bit heavier – 143 kg vs 135 kg.
This extra weight adds a bit more stability. So if you want just a bit more substance to your treadmill, then the 2950 is the better option. Again, however this is not a huge difference.
To be honest, I was a bit surprised there wasn’t more of a difference between these two treadmills.
They’re very similar with almost identical consoles, inclines and declines, adjustable cushioning, extra long belts and the same amount of built-in workout programs.
They both also come iFit Coach compatible with adjustable tablet holders above the console.
The Nordictrack 2950 does give you a slight edge when it comes to motor power and stability. And the power uprights on the 2950 model to move the console up or down are important for taller users or multiple-user families.
But considering that the price difference between them is substantial, these differences are pretty minor. If you really don’t care about the minor differences, you may feel that the Nordictrack 2450 is the better value.
At the end of the day though it really comes down to what you’re looking for and what’s most important to you.
