These are two popular starter treadmills from Nordictrack, coming in at very affordable prices.
Both treadmills give you a very respectable 3.0 HP motor, 0 – 12% incline and roomy 152 cm running decks.
They are both also iFit Coach compatible – meaning you can connect to iFit through your treadmill and download new workouts, track your workout stats or even run different world trails – from Paris to New Zealand!
So how are they different? There are a few key differences you should know.
Here’s a rundown of the main differences to help you decide which treadmill is best suited for your home.
Nordictrack T10.0 vs T14.0 Treadmill – Price
While the T10.0 model is actually the model below the T14.0 model, surprisingly it comes in at a slightly higher price point (as of this writing – it could change in the future). As of now anyways, it runs around £1199 with Free Shipping here.
The Nordictrack T14.0 treadmill is the next model up but currently runs around £999 with Free Shipping here. So technically it is the better value of the two, price-wise. However again, keep in mind that prices may change at any time.
Nordictrack 10.0 vs 14.0 Treadmill – Console
This is the main area where you see the largest difference between these two treadmills. The Nordictrack T10.0 treadmill gives you a dual-color, bright, backlit LED screen with a scrolling message board to lead you through your workout.
There’s also a tablet holder above the console. So you can attach your tablet and watch your favorite shows or movies as you walk.
The console on the Nordictrack T14.0 treadmill steps things up a bit. You get a full-color, touch-screen console with added Android web browser. So you can surf the net, read emails or watch YouTube videos as you walk.
This is quite an upgrade – for a similarly priced treadmill and many people will probably prefer to have the added web browser in their console.
The Nordictrack T14.0 treadmill also has the adjustable tablet holder just like the T10.0 model as well.
It’s also fair to note that – while both treadmills are iFit compatible – if you don’t have your own tablet that you can connect to iFit with on the T10.0 model, you won’t get the scenery of iFit that everybody really loves.
So you won’t get full use out of iFit if you decide to add it to your treadmill.
If you don’t have a tablet, it really doesn’t matter on the Nordictrack T14.0 treadmill since you can connect to iFit easily through the web browser in the console and watch the iFit scenery that way.
Nordictrack T10.0 vs T14.0 Comparison – Built-in Workouts
Want to add some challenge to your workouts? The Nordictrack T10.0 treadmill comes with 20 built-in workouts that were designed by a personal trainer to focus on different goals like calorie burning, time goals, hills and more.
The Nordictrack T14.0 treadmill gives you a few more built-in workouts to challenge you: 32. So you get a few more workouts with this treadmill.
Nordictrack 10.0 vs 14.0 Treadmill – Stability
The Nordictrack T14.0 treadmill has a bit more weight to it than the T10.0 model – so it can feel a bit more stable when you pick up the pace.
You can also see this in the higher weight capacity of the T14.0 model: 135 kg vs 125 kg. So if you’re a runner or just want a treadmill with a bit more stability to it, the T14.0 model is the better choice.
Nordictrack T10.0 vs T14.0 Comparison – Sound System
Both treadmills come with a port for your iPod or iPhone. You can plug it in and listen to your favorite workout music through the built-in console speakers.
However what most people may not realize is that the speakers on the T14.0 console are higher-quality (3 inch speakers vs smaller 2 inch speakers). So your sound is going to be better on the T14.0 treadmill than on the T10.0 treadmill.
It’s a little thing – but if you’re planning on playing your workout music while walking, it’s worth considering.
So what’s the bottom line when comparing the Nordictrack T10.0 vs T14.0 treadmills?
While they both give you some solid basics like a 3.0 HP motor, 12% incline, heart rate monitors and 22 km/hour speed limits, there are some key differences.
The biggest difference is in the console – the T14.0 gives you an upgraded full-color console with web browser whereas the T10.0 model console is only dual color with no web browser.
The Nordictrack T14.0 also gives you a better sound system, more workouts and comes in at a better price (for now).
The only reason to choose the T10.0 model is if Nordictrack drops the price on it to be more affordable than the T14.0 treadmill.
